| Sleepless in Muncie |
This has been a very difficult week for me. On top of having four tests and two paper due a girl at work decided to quit, forcing my manager to give everyone on part time staff extra hours to help cover the store until she hires someone else. My work hours jumped from 15 hours a week to 25 hours a week, which makes my life very difficult. Between work and school being as hectic as they both were this week I have had a severe lack of sleep as well as social contact. Thursday night I ended up getting about an hour of sleep. Friday I had two tests and I had to go to work right after class and work right until closing. I then had to wake up bright and early this morning for work and with about fifteen minutes until the end of my shift
my boss told
me I was going to have to work another two hours to help cover for
someone who called in sick. To say I am exhausted is an understatement
and yet I cannot seem to get to sleep. Did I mention I have to work
tomorrow as well? I also work every day next week but Thursday, thank
goodness because I have a doctor's
appointment on Thursday.I guess the only upside to being so busy is how I no longer have the time to sit around and worry about Jason being gone. He has only called once this week and tonight I got a sickening feeling in my stomach. His birthday is on Monday and Valentines Day is on Tuesday. I suppose I should see how I am working both days is a blessing in disguise since my mind will, hopefully, be preoccupied and I won't notice the fact that for the second year in a row Jason and I will not be able to spend his birthday or Valentines day together because of his army obligations. Our inability to be together on such occasions really frustrates me. We started watching a movie in English class that is actually really funny. I do not particularly remember the name because we started watching the movie on Friday and I was not completely lucid due to my lack of sleep. The movie is really interesting so far and I can't wait to see how the movie finishes. I am trying to get to sleep but I don't seem to be having much luck. I think I will go borrow some Nyquil from my friend and try to get a decent night sleep for the first time this week. Hopefully this upcoming week is much less eventful and is filled with much more interesting events. I know that my relating my overwhelming work schedule and hectic school schedule really is not that interesting. Tune in next week and I will hopefully have something better for you to read about! |
