This paper, that I wrote for my Multicultural Education class with Professor Dikko, and is a unique example of INTASC principle 1.  By having a better understanding of my background and my own life experiences I feel it will be easy for me to make meaningful connections between subject matter and my students.  I believe I will be able to help my students understand subjects as well as help foster and create genuine interest in subject matter for students who might otherwise not be interested.
