This document is a
digitized version of Blue Book Test that I took for my Geography 321
class with Professor Slack in the fall of 2007. This test was our
first test of the semester and was over the evolution of cities,
various theories of evolution of citites, and the impact of the
industrialization on cities. This exam is in essay form and our
responses had to be at least 200 words in length. I am using this
test as an example of my knowledge of geography and my growing ability
to articulate my thoughts and understanding of subject matter as it
pertains to my fields of study. This test is associated with
Standard #3 of the Indiana Professional Standards Board Teachers of
Social Studies Content Standards. This test shows my
understanding of the flow of people, goods and ideas and how
these things link all parts of the world to an interdependent and
ever-changing system that creates and spreads wealth unevenly.
This test also reflects my recognition and value of the varities of
human imprints on Earth as a reflection of people's culture,
technology, needs, ideals, and governance.

This document is an exercise for Geography 265: Introduction to GIS
with Professor Zimmerman in the fall of 2008. This exercise is an
introduction to Geographic Information Systems and clearly establishes
my knowledge of geography, grasp of geographical information systems
concepts, and ability to demonstrate my knowledge and abilities of
geography through the identification, creation of spreadsheets and
tables and creation of maps displaying the created tables and
spreadsheets. In this exercise I created GIS data and tables,
excel spreadsheets, and imported them into the Geographic Information
Systems. In this exercise I also demonstrate my ability to interpret
the information of existing tables and maps.

This document is an exam from Geography 240: Mapmaking with Professor
Vaughan in the fall of 2008. This exam clearly demonstrates my
understanding of concepts of map making and my ability to demonstrate
this knowledge. In this document I answer questions about the
history of cartography, the technological improvements made to the art
and science of cartography throughout the ages, I define maps,
cartography, the Greek pioneers of cartography and geographic thoughts
and their contributions to cartography, and I even craft an essay that
chronicles the western European changes in attitude towards and
descriptions of the physical world from the Classical Period to the
present.
