There are
many
different resources at the
disposal of todays teachers. With so many advancements in
technology the internet has become a wonderful tool that helps teachers
communicate with students, parents, administrators and even other
teachers. Just a few websites that I have found that will help me
to learn how to become a better teacher are below. These websites
include resources that review the INTASC standards as well as No child
left behind as well as different sites that help teachers with lesson
plans and bringing creativity into the classroom.
U.S. Department of Education
This
website is a direct link to the United States Department of Eductation.
It has links on its main page that can offer help to students, parents,
teachers and administrators. It also has links regarding the
United States education policies, federal aid programs, and research
and statistics.
No
Child Left Behind
This
website discusses President Bush's enactment of the No Child Left
Behind Act. Here you can find information about the guidelines
provided by the No Child Left Behind Act as well as how states are
measuring up with each other and the federally set goals.
National
Council for the Social
Studies
This
website provides links, educational activities, and discussion boards
directed specifically at Social Studies.
The National Council for History
Education
This
website provides links, educational activities, guidelines and
discussion boards directed specifically at History Education.
INTASC
Standards
This website is a direct
link to the INTASC standards. INTASC stands for Interstate New Teacher
Assessment and Support Consortium. It includes links to the
mission statement, policy models, and projects that are geared toward
the improvement of public education.
Creative Teaching
This website
is dedicated to helping teachers add creativity to their
classrooms. There are many different ideas that teachers can
utilize in order to help their classroom become a fun learning
enviroment for students.
PBS Teaching Resource
This website is sponsered by PBS and is a wonderful website that can be
used for any grade level and any subject. This website also has
links that help teachers with lesson plans, how to integrate technology
into the classroom, and educational television.
